British company Merlin Entertainment announce the 5th and largest Legoland
2011 will see the old Winter Haven Cypress Gardens transformed into the world's largest Legoland theme park.
This commitment to Florida by Merlin confirms the continued attraction by both domestic and foreign visitors to the region. With Disney, Universall and Sea World all having a major presence in the area the new resort can only help to ensure that Florida remains the No 1 vacation destination for families.

Merlin have confirmed that the new expanded Resort will feature not only Legoland, but include a Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, London Eye Ferris Wheel and SeaLife Aquarium. They will also include Miniland, which will feature depictions of famous Florida landmarks made of Legos.
The new Legoland will be situated only about 40 miles away from Disney World and about an hour south of Orlando. It will sit on a 145-acre property and will aim at children between the ages of 2 and 12 years old. The new addition will also be the 5th park opened in the world, with 50 rides, shows and other attractions. The other Legoland parks operated by Merlin are located in Britain, Germany, Denmark and California.
